This is how I screencast

I recently decided to start doing a screencast show that covers productivity and time saving tips for using the internet. This would involve recording actions on the screen as they are being done. Since I didn’t want to constantly screencast my personal computer to whole internet, I decided to record a VMWare screen that was pretty vanilla.

Here’s how I set that up.

For equipment, I use my Macbook Pro and Thunderbolt Display to do the computing work. I use a Blue Microphones Spark for the voice. The actual screencasting and video editing work is done with Tech Smith’s Camtasia. I’ve also done some of the logo work with Synium’s Animationist and Logoist. I recommend all these products. If a newbie like me can pick them up and start using them to create screencast videos in a sort time, anyone can.
