Just when you think you have it bad

By • Dec 31st, 2004 • Category: In Other News....

Lately I’ve been whining and moaning about all the trouble and expense we’re going to have to go through to make Suzette’s immigration status here permanent. At this point, I’ve spent about $600 in filing fees for USCIS (formerly INS) paperwork. It looks like we’re going to have to pay at least another $600 in filing fees before we’re finished. That’s doesn’t count the money I’ve spent getting someone to fill out the forms for me (we won’t be doing that again). Then there’s also time, the time to actually fill out the forms, the time spent on hold on the USCIS info line to ask which form we need to fill out, the time we’re going to have to spend being interviewed, etc…etc…etc….

I thought we had it bad, until I read this story.
