Iraqi Elections

By Marc • Jan 30th, 2005 • Category: In Other News....

Well, by all accounts it looks like the elections in Iraq were a success. Read about it here, here and here at Yahoo News. Let’s hope the elections in Iraq have a similar effect that they did in Afghanistan, as I have already mentioned.

The Pope and the doves

By Marc • Jan 30th, 2005 • Category: The Pope is Dope

JPII tried to release the some doves, one of the most popular symbols of peace to the world. It looks like they wanted to stay somewhere where they felt at home. This shows how much the Holy Father wants to spread peace through out the world and what a hard task [...]

By Marc • Jan 30th, 2005 • Category: Web Round Up

I seem to keep finding all these interesting web sites that I’d like to pass along to anyone else who might find them interesting. So, starting to today I’m going to post in a new topic I’ve named “Web Round Up”. Today is the first post…..

Things to say when you’re losing a technical [...]

I got this in my inbox…

By Marc • Jan 29th, 2005 • Category: the Church, the Weirdo

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering.
Finally fed up, God said, “THAT’S IT! I have had enough! I am going to set up a test that will run for [...]

Teddy and a cool new blog

By Marc • Jan 29th, 2005 • Category: Politics

I was going to blog on this story about Teddy and his irresponsible comments recently on Iraq. But, since I was too mad and found this great blog on it instead, I’ll just link to it. Note the Chappaquiddick references.

I wish…

Nicole Kidman seeks privacy…

By Marc • Jan 28th, 2005 • Category: In Other News...., the Ranter

From the sound of this story, it looks like the paparazzi have again gone too far. These people invade the privacy of celebs on a daily basis. These people, no matter their celeb status deserve to have their privacy just like anyone else. Also, they have families that are not actors, athletes [...]

The more I pay attention to politics….

By Marc • Jan 27th, 2005 • Category: Politics, the Ranter

I never really paid much attention to politics when I was younger. I pretty much just followed the crowd and agreed with what my friends said or thought. This always leaned me more towards the left. I realize how that sounds, but that was me back then. I just didn’t care [...]

A new twenty-first century saint

By Marc • Jan 26th, 2005 • Category: ProLife, the Church

Like Saint Gianna Beretta Molla in the last century, We have Rita Fedrizzi in this century. She was diagnosed with cancer about the same time she became pregnant. She refused treatment for her cancer because it would mean ending the pregnancy and therefore killing the child. Let’s all honor her and [...]

Goodnight Johnny

By Marc • Jan 23rd, 2005 • Category: In Other News....

The world has lost a funny man in Johnny Carson. In some of my earliest memories of staying up late ona school night, Johnny was there. When it was time to intorduce a new comdian that I would grow to love, Johnny was there. Often, when it was time [...]

Tsunami as punishment???

By Marc • Jan 23rd, 2005 • Category: In Other News....

I just don’t get it. I keep reading articles and what not that say the Tsunami was a punishment for Muslims who were not “Islamic enough”. What doesn’t make sense to me is this, if “Allah” was so upset about people not being Islamic enough then why didn’t the Tsunami hit Israel, the [...]

Scrappleface satirizes it like it is..

By Marc • Jan 22nd, 2005 • Category: On The Web, the Church

According to Scrappleface, the Christian funded relief efforts for the Tsunami victims are holding back some of the best stuff for themselves and not giving it to the people who need it the most. Go take a look. I say that as Christians, we can’t hold back. We need to give them [...]

Prayer request

By Marc • Jan 21st, 2005 • Category: For the Troops

I got this in my inbox at work. I’m passing it on in my way.
As a transportation battalion, my unit will be delivering the voting machines and the ballots to villages and cities throughout Iraq during the upcoming elections. (January 30/31) Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents because they do not want [...]

Psalm 51

By Marc • Jan 18th, 2005 • Category: the Church

[1] Have mercy on me, O God,
according to thy steadfast love;
according to thy abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
[2] Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!

Food Timeline

By Marc • Jan 17th, 2005 • Category: the Weirdo

This was kinda cool. The food time line. Of course it starts with water. While it does assume that Humans evolved from lower animals (something no one is able to prove), it’s still kind cool.

Followup - Beatallica

By Marc • Jan 17th, 2005 • Category: the Weirdo

Let’s lighten things up a little bit. Jeff Miller of Curt Jester fame posted a comment on my post about the Beastles. He linked something similar called Beatallica. It’s what sounds like a Metallica tribute band doing redone Beatles songs. It’s UM…….Interesting. Take a look!
