News 24 wonders, “Who will lead the Church?”

By • Feb 4th, 2005 • Category: Catholic stuff, the Church, The Pope is Dope

It’s and interesting article, full of speculation. But there’s a couple of things they were off center on. First of all, the Church is made up of three parts, the Church Militant on Earth, the Church Suffering “in” Purgatory and the Church Triumphant in Heaven. The Pope is only the leader of the one part here on Earth. So the question “Who will lead the Church?” is easily answered. Jesus Christ will lead the Church, just like he always has and always will. Now, he did leave a succession of leadership here to lead the Earthly Church, which started with Saint Peter and is currently Pope John Paul II. As for who will take his place when he leaves us, well, that’s really for the Holy Spirit to decide.
