Where were you???

When Pope Benedict XVI was elected?

I was in my car. It was one of those Tuesdays that I had to go into the office at 3am, so I was on my way home. If you promise not to tell, I will also say I left about 30 minutes early. My blackberry had gone off telling me there was white smoke rising from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel. I was trying to make it home before the new pope (keep in mind that at that time we had no idea who it was….for sure anyway) stepped out onto the balcony. I didn’t make. But I do thank God for talk radio. They had switched to CBS news on the radio. I guess it wasn’t really a surprise who was elected. But it was still nice at least to hear it on the radio while it was happening. I’ve just been “giddy” ever since.

I’m so excited for what we in The Church have in store for us. I think this will be a turning point in The Church that will be felt for a long time to come.

***I’ve mirrored this same post on the forums. I would ask anyone who wants to, to post thier “where were you” story over there. Here’s the address:
