That’s it! I’m converting…
By Marc • May 22nd, 2005 • Category: the GeekYou may have checked back here on the website the past week or so and saw no activity. Well, the truth I’ve been very busy. I made a very important decision last Sunday that has caused some changes in my life which in turn have been very time consuming…..
You see, I’ve gone Mac. I bought one of the little Mac minis and I love it! So far I’ve moved almost everything I do computer wise to the thing and it’s holding out like a champ. Since these are bottom of the line models, I think I am starting to see some memory issues. But, that’s real easy to fix by a simple upgrade. The Mac OS X operating system has the power and flexibility I need in an OS that Windows just doesn’t have. Plus, since the OS is based off UNIX, it’s a little more like the systems I work on at work.
So far I’ve moved my email, news feeds reading, iPod (including podcast downloads) and web surfing to the machine. At the rate I’m going, I’ll have no use for my Windows except to play games…… I’m also looking forward to paying with the program Garageband when I get the time. I’ve been wanting to work on some music for a while and this looks like a perfect software package for what I want to do. Anyway, I’m real happy with it so far. If anyone reading this has some good Mac tips, drop me a line.
Oh….and um…..Sorry about the “converting” thing. I just couldn’t resist. Rest assured my faith in the true bride of Christ is still secure.

I undrstand completely… I too have become greatly disillusioned with Microsoft (aside from a gaming OS) since being introduced to the newer flavors of Linux (DamnSmallLinux ROCKS! + it’s only 50Mb!) and OSX. Windows seems like a greedy autistic old man in comparision on the same hardware against Unix derived OS’s and I am strongly considering “converting” to these as my primaries – while sadly keeping abreast with the Windows side for work/support – UNTIL THEY SEE THE LIGHT THAT IS!
