Finnish Lutherans want to return home

By • May 30th, 2005 • Category: the Church

It appears that some (if not all) Finnish Luthererans want to reconcile with the Catholic Church. Read the story here.

One interesting line from the article from Helsinki’s Lutheran Bishop Eero Huovinen:

After explaining that Martin Luther did not want to found a new church but simply renew it, the bishop said, “We Finnish Lutherans wish to be part of the Catholic Church of Christ.”

I’ve got a strange feeling we’ll be seeing more of this come of thing in the near future.

  1. Great. The Finns are welcome, as is any other branch of Lutheranism.
