Disc Jockey Sues Kid Rock
By Marc • Jun 16th, 2005 • Category: Pop Culture, the RanterYou’re kidding, right? Let me see if I can explain a little reality here. If you work in an unsavory place and hang out with unsavory people, you may well “get the horns”. I think this guy is just looking for a payoff, nothing else. Keep in mind all these events took place in various Nashville strip clubs, one of which was the DJ’s place of employment.
The suit claims Kid Rock, 34, struck Campos, 30, on the left side of his face on Feb. 16, “thereby causing severe, disabling and permanent injuries” during a 3 a.m. altercation at Christie’s Cabaret downtown.
What did he hit him with, a bowling ball??? I mean c’mon. Kid Rock talks a lot, but look at him. Does he really look like he can hit that hard?
He was in town to perform the song “I Saw the Light” during a memorial service for songwriter Merle Kilgore.
I doubt that. But, maybe someday he will see it.
Born Bob Ritchie, Kid Rock was a Detroit-area hip-hop DJ when he broke through with 1998’s “Devil Without a Cause,” which successfully married hard rock beats with rap lyrics.
Weren’t the Beastie Boys and Run-DMC doing this like twenty years ago?
