Actor Brad Pitt has been diagnosed with a mild case of viral meningitis and was released from the hospital Wednesday, his publicist said.

OK…That’s important. meningitis is a nasty thing. Let’s keep him in our prayers. OK?

“The actor is at home and doing well,” she said in a statement.

Well good. I hope he gets better. IMHO, he’s a good actor and I’d like to see him keep making films.

Probably important to the story…right? I mean he could have caught a virus in Africa. He’s not from there, so he doesn’t have the natural immunities of the native African population. Plus, the climate makes the continent suitable for such illnesses to thrive.

Guagenti declined Wednesday to say if Pitt contracted the illness while in Africa.

This was a smart move. I could see hysteria breaking out from people thinking that it must be much worse than meningitis, just because he picked up the bug in Africa. You know who “people” can be….
