OK-here’s the deal. As a parent of 2, ANYTHING that gets them to read rather than watch TV or play video games is a big plus. I’ll do the moral instruction myself in discussing the book with them. It is a lot less violent than Homer and has a better moral message than Hemmingway or Faulkner. NOT great literature but a GREAT story. Remember, entertainment is vastly different than education in this case and I have read book six personally now.
Adam – The difference between you and most parents today is that you actually try to be a parent. I do worry about the kids that have parents that don’t. Who tells teaches them to distinguish from fact and fiction?
