Let’s get OS/2 open sourced

I think this would be pretty cool . I installed OS/2 once not long after Warp came out. I was working for a little service company that let me give you my assurance I won’t name because I hated working there. ;) We had a customer while I worked there that was running a network with a Novell server and OS/2 clients. So, I was trying to learn it to help out with that customer who always complained that no one knew anything about OS/2. Plus, it’s always good to know something few others know. It makes you marketable in some ways.

Anyway, it seemed to be a pretty solid OS to me at the time. It had some interesting “quirks” to it. It was just a little too hard to work on though without the help you can get these days on the Internet. I was having the same kind of trouble at that time with Linux. You have to remember, at this time I had a dial-up account, which was rare.

Now though, with the easily available I can see lots of folks getting a lot of good use out some thing like this. So, if IBM is listening, you have my vote. Release the source!
