Don’t mess with the Last Supper

By • Oct 3rd, 2005 • Category: In Other News...., the Church

First, read this story.

OK, the question that first comes to my mind is “would Jesus have gambled”. You know, it doesn’t really matter. I can picture him sitting around a campfire with the Apostles playing cards for lovess of bread. Of course Jesus would always win by having the most loves of bread ;) . But to take to the Last Supper, which is one of the most solemn moments ever. I mean it’s the first celebration of the Divine Liturgy. That’s going a little too far.

Father Micheal MacGreil, Jesuit priest at St Francis Xavier’s Church in central Dublin, branded the advert “grossly inappropriate and vulgar.”

I look at it this way, if a Jesuit says it’s “grossly inappropriate and vulgar”, it must be really bad. Right?
