Happy Birthday to the Marines

I wish to extend a big happy birthday to the United States Marine Corp. On this day in 1775, Continental Congress ordered the origination of two battalions of of marines to serve as landing forces for the Navy. Since then they have fought in the most remote places on our Earth to defend freedom and democracy. They took heavy losses in the war with Japan in World War II and defined the modrn methods of amphibious assaults. We would not be the great nation we are today without our Marines. So if you see one today, be sure to wish him a happy birthday.
