Alito abortion remarks concern some

“In a newly released 1985 job application, Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito says the Constitution does not protect abortion rights, and he expresses a conservative fervor on many social issues.

The document, released Monday by the National Archives, provoked concerns from Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, an abortion rights supporter, and others. Specter said Alito should be closely questioned about his remarks during confirmation hearings set to begin Jan. 9. (Related item: Read the document)”

It doesn’t cause me any concern. It makes me want to leap for joy. Just the fact that he is in favor of stopping the mindless slaughter of so many innocent children would get him my vote, if I had a vote.

“Anybody who would read this letter from 20 years ago as an indication that he would overturn Roe v. Wade is jumping to conclusions,” Schmidt said.

Let’s ope it’s a valid conclusion. Confirm Alito now!
