We fans have been let down again. Billie Piper, who plays Rose on the show has decided to leave.

“Billie Piper, the pop star-turned-actress, has quit her role as Rose Tyler on the BBC’s hit SF series Doctor Who, the U.K. tabloid newspaper the Daily Mirror reported. Citing an anonymous source, the newspaper said that Piper, 23, would leave the show in its upcoming third season because she doesn’t want to become typecast.

Sorry Ms. Piper, just like Mr. Eccleston it’s probably too late to avoid the type-casting.

The article goes on to say that she’ll leave the show in it’s third season. It’s not really clear how much she’ll be in the third season if at all. As you may know, I have thing about seeing TV show characters getting killed off. I am kind off hoping they do this with her. She’s really a character we’ve grown to love and it’s always good entertainment when you loose a character like that. It wouldn’t be like when Adric died and everyone cheered, that’s for sure.
