The Bible: Latin Vulgate

By • Nov 17th, 2005 • Category: Catholic stuff, the Church

I found a website that has the “Latin Vulgate”. But, it looks like someone removed some of the books…

They forgot to leave this out though…

et si quis deminuerit de verbis libri prophetiae huius auferet Deus partem eius de ligno vitae et de civitate sancta et de his quae scripta sunt in libro isto

Or in English….

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book.

For anyone keeping score, that was Rev 22:19……

If you want to have the whole Bible, go here for the Douay-Rhiems….

  1. I remember a while back, when we had an edition come out down here (Australia), where they worked off colors. What may have been said, what was said, things that paul really said, things that jesus just thought instead of saying … etc etc.

It made for interesting conversation, although I’ve never actually laid eyes on a copy.
