A birthday, the first among two cool milestones
By Marc • Nov 28th, 2005 • Category: the SiteYesterday was the birthday of this blog. The first post I made to it was on Nov. 27th, 2004. Yes, there are posted dated before that. But those were imported from blogger.
I remember well driving up from Memphis to Nashville for thanksgiving. I had just installed Wordpress on my web host. I ended up spending most of the holiday here in Nashville in my folk’s spare bedroom installing themes and try to work on a good look for the blog. We came home that Friday afternoon and after more work on the look and feel of thicke.org, I finally made first post. It was dull and boring, pretty much like my posts now. But it was mine. It was something I did and wanted to be proud of. It’s coma long way since then. Multiple themes, upgrades to Worpress and a name change have all happened, but it’s still alive and kicking. Thanks to everyone who has supported me in any way. God bless everyone!
Oh, and as Steve Jobs would say, there’s just one more thing. This also happens to be the 500th post according to Wordpress.
