Feast of Saint Nick and a special day for another reason
By Marc • Dec 6th, 2005 • Category: MarcWell, it’s all over the Catholic blogosphere that today is the feast of Saint Nicholas. But there’s something the other sites aren’t telling you.
It’s something you’ll only read here at Wild Tangents.
Saint Nicholas is better known to the rest of the world as the inspiration for Santa Claus. Saint Nicolas is the patron saint of bakers and pawn brokers. When leaning the story of this wonderful saint, you really can start to see the where the idea for Santa Claus came from. Catholic.org has a great writ up on him here.
Now, for what the others aren’t telling you. Today also happens to be the second anniversary of mine and Suzette’s wedding.
That’s right, it was two years ago today that I was waiting very impatiently at the alter while the rest of the wedding party slowly processed in Holy Rosary church back in Memphis. Since that time I have experienced nothing but joy and amazement at how wonderful Suzette has made my life. I love her with all my heart and hope our life together continues to be filled with happiness as it has been so far. I love you Suzette!

December 6, 2005- Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary
For our anniversary, with love
(by Susan Polis Schutz)
On our anniversary
I think back to
when we first met
when we first dated
when we first loved each other
when we first had a disagreement
when we first made up
when we first lived together
And I …
Congratulations, man!
Congratulations! You have two years toward eternity. May you live holy and joyful lives together. And may God continue to bring you abundant blessings.
Thanks to Mark and Ruth Anne for the kind words.
