Coup attempt rumors sweep through Philippines

By Marc • Dec 14th, 2005 • Category: The Philippines

Rumors of a fresh coup attempt swept through the Philippines on Wednesday after a captain charged of leading a failed 2003 mutiny escaped from court and a former defense chief declared himself the leader of an interim government preparing to replace President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Let’s hope so. Suzette was showing me a website the other day saying that Glue-ria’s approval rating was in negative numbers. It was lower than Marcos’ was….

This woman has done everything she can to lie, cheat and steal her way to the wealth and power available to a corrupt politician who takes the highest office in the land of the Philippines. She needs to be stopped.

Let’s hope and pray that she is overthrown and a just, wise and selfless person takes over the reigns of my wife’s home country. The Philippines is a country that is truly only as great as it’s leaders. Unfortunately it ain’t all that great right now.
