Mirror mirror on the wall

…who has the best idea for a Star Trek movie of them all?

The Canmag.com Web site reported a rumor that William Shatner is one of the former Star Trek captains who would appear in a proposed new Trek movie set in the “mirror” universe. Citing an anonymous source, the site reported that a script is floating around for a proposed new movie that would bring together Shatner’s Capt. James T. Kirk, Patrick Stewart’s Capt. Jean-Luc Picard and possibly Scott Bakula’s Capt. Jonathan Archer. The movie would be a prequel film set in the evil parallel universe first introduced in the original Star Trek episode “Mirror, Mirror” and last seen in the Star Trek: Enterprise two-part episode “In a Mirror, Darkly.”

OK. I can dig that. If it’s got something to do with the mirror universe and it’s not DS9, it must be cool. I mean if that’s not a law it ought to be.

  1. First, what’s with the new skin?

Second, and more importantly, yes, I agree, the DS9 writing team did not understand the mirror universe properly. I blame Nana Visitor. I think she wanted to prance around in leather and act like Dr. Frankenfurter. But I don’t keep up with behind the scenes rumors enough to know if any of that is true. It’s just a sense I have.

  2. First……I just like to play. Break things and fix them. Plus this theme had features in it that the old one didn’t. These features were needed for the site devoted to me and my wife. That one so far is just an aggregator of our two blogs, but I have plans to expand it, including a photo gallery. It’s much easier to keep manage to keep the two in sync for right now. In the near future I will be doing mine up again.

Second, I completely agree with you on the DS9 thing. The Mirror universe stories were just….well weird. Also, shouldn’t that be “Frank-n-Furter”?
