Department spokesman Charles Shannon says it isn’t clear why the victim was on the rails when the C-S-X train passed over him.The Nashville police department and the medical examiner’s office are investigating the incident that occurred this morning.
This happened not 200 yards from my office. We saw all the emergency vehicles and the stopped train while we were on our way to lunch. While I don’t know if this man was a homeless person, I can say this an area where a lot homeless people congregate.
Please pray for the repose.
Eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord. And may perpetual light shine on them. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

How sad. I’m hoping that maybe he was passed out at the time. What a terrible way to go.
